For many doing the laundry is a nasty fact of life… However, it is generally not considered to be in the scope of duties of a house cleaning service. If you need this service you should consider looking for a maid service or a housekeeping service. Laundry is considered to be an act of daily living like making the beds or doing dishes. Most house cleaning services do not offer these services. So it is always a good practice to ask lots of questions and record those answers before hiring any house cleaning service.

- After you have come up with a list of garage cleaning and organizing vendors list.
Consider these points. First you will want to meet with your vendors and have them provide you with a written bid explaining in detail how is responsibility for what.
- Getting and checking reference is also advisable.
- Never, I mean, never use a day laborer whether the go Jose, Bill, or Gene.
- Day laborers, may well be hard working people but they usually lack community anchors
- You will be bring these people to your home and you to not need criminals viewing your possessions
- I personally believe this project does not require the vendor be insured or bonded. Homeowners insurance should cover any breakage or other problems that might occur.
- You can find quality workers through Craigslist and other sources. Usually, these folks charge by the hour.
- Avoid having to use the hourly approach. Stick with the bid.
- Do be prepared to pay more, if you go with a bid, but you cause the project to run beyond the scheduled hours for completion.

Never pay anything upfront

So by now, you may be ready emotionally…
But your family and friends do not show any interest in anything to do with the garage cleaning and organizing project… Days off from school or work are not meant for more work… Right?
Perhaps, now you have decided to hire someone.. But where do you find someone or such a company?
- The old stand bye here: ask a friend, may not be a viable option… Why, because it’s a lot of work and their garage needs cleaned as well…
- You could try phone directories
- But since you are already on-line… Why, not start there
- So you pull up Google or Yahoo… Right!
- Now comes the keyword decision… This may not be a simple as you think..
- So always start with your location in your search
- Then maybe house cleaning service or janitorial service
- Locally I would start with Tucson Garage Cleaning
- And of course you would find me there… Not many people advertise this service
- Or you might want to use Craigslist or other free classifieds such as Google Base
Always get three bids… It takes time, but it’s time well spent

Part 6 Are you planning a garage cleaning and organizing Project?
Are you simply wanting things removed that are left over from a messy divorce, death, or other tragic event?
I once visited a home for a garage cleaning and organizing bid. The woman explained what was in one large cluttered pile. That stuff belonged to her husband who had died eight years ago. She went on to explain “I moved into this house six years ago and I have never touched his stuff again” So we talked at length about the emotional aspects of her garage project. We discussed whether she was prepared to face these challenges. She agreed that it was time, after all she wanted to sell her house.
She assured me that she was ready. I finished up and went home to create and send her the bid by email. The bid was ridiculously reasonable. However, I never heard back from her again I will never know if the bid was to high or if she just was not ready. Many people think that they are ready, but in reality they are not. I loose a lot of business when I discuss the emotional aspects of the project. That’s okay by me. It’s no fun getting into a project that the customer is not prepared to complete.
Was the bid too high or was it the emotional cost? I will never know…

What is your commitment level to your Garage Cleaning and Organizing Project do you Have if you are going to do it yourself?
- You have to be realistic here. The garage did not become overflowing overnight.
- You should set aside several days over at least two weekends (set this into your day planner or your schedule, as if it were an important appointment)
- You need to line up all your ducks before beginning.
- You need to make sure that all your helpers, be they family or friends, are as committed to this project as you are.
- Now, you need to eliminate all distractions… Make sure your distractions (family, business, and friends) understand that you are not to be disturbed during the process.
|
This also means turning off and removing your electronic tethers, such as, cell phone and blackberry’s

Does your garage go uncleaned or cleaned but once a year, at best? Garage cleaning is the orphan of home cleaning projects It also is a service that I provide as part of my Your Fresh Start Cleaning Service. For many of you in Tucson garage cleaning or organizing project is a once a year project(Think spring cleaning.”
Your garage cleaning and organizing project, or house organizing in any form, may seem odd, at best. I often see people that park their vehicles outside… In our blistering Tucson summer sun… And for that matter… All year round… Can you imagine such a thing? So much stuff so little room.
These neighbors of ours just have so much “stuf” in their overflowing garages… So much so, that the vehicles have nowhere to park indoors… They are sheltering thousands of dollars in belongings… When ten of thousands of dollars in vehicles sit parked in the driveway.
I have such a friend and she resides alone… She has no big family to fill her garage and her garage is way extra huge… Even bigger than her house… Yet, she has so much stuff in the garage that her vehicles, about $70,000 worth, are parked out in the daily elements of sun. wind, and yes, sometimes rain here in Tucson.
All these nice people are candidates for a garage cleaning and organizing project. So if you are one of them or know someone with an overflowing garage… Stay Please do stay posted. This blog will be offering some tips on how to handle this huge project… The advice will cover hiring a professional and how to do it yourself… Stay tuned.
