Yep, That’s right Your Fresh Start is up “For Sale.” I have done a very god job marketing this Blog and my other business, Tucson SEO Solutions, at www.tucsonseosolutions.com. The SEO business leaves me very little time or energy to market this cleaning business and blog.
The website and blog’s traffic has increased every month since they were launched. The website should top out this month at 4,000 visitors. About 1800 of those visitors are unique visitors.
Only inquiries accompanied with a letter of credit from the lender and/or a letter from your attorney will be considered. The website will be modified to meet your specific needs. Management and marketing services will be available as well. This format has worked very well for us.
We have found that our true love is search engine optimization. It’s much easier to clean-up a website and to scrub a toilet.
Thanks, so very much for your support.

Death and dying not the most pleasant of topics I know. Much like taxes death is part of our lives whether we like it or not. Today, we got the call that we knew was coming. The short voice mail message, went something like this “she’s gone.”
It was my life partners half sister who had gone. She had Lupus and was slowly losing the battle for years. Some in the family thought she had gotten what she deserved. That’s what happens when you go through life making it miserable for your family. I suppose that I could be bitter for what she had done to me. The truth is, that I held her in contempt, as well. I will not elaborate, but to say that is was worth hate, if your are a hating kind of person. For me, it was more like enormous disdain.
Then this spring, as fate would have it, I encountered this woman while visiting her family. One look at this withered soul melted my disdain into pity. My mind equated that she was living “what comes around goes around.” By the next morning I found myself embracing this woman and whispering “I forgive you.” What a liberating experience. I am not one for harboring bitterness, but this woman earned it. I was so relieved, , and today, I am rightfully sad, and not happy. My thoughts and prayers go out to her mother, her daughter, and grandchildren.

This business and blog hails from Tucson, Arizona. The metro area now includes over a million residents. I have been here more or less for over three decades, yes, that’s 30 years… And to think at one time we never trusted anyone over 30!
Back then most of the surrounding land was owned, by Howard Hughes, Yes that Howard, and he liked to buy, own, and hold onto land. Much of that land is in what is known as “The Foothills” of our Catalina Mountains. These Foothills were not well populated then, as Howard was not much into developing land. It was a great place to party! You could see the city lights glowing in the distance at night and no one much cared if you partied.
Well, at lot has changed since then. When Howard died his estate sold off if land holdings in these Foothills. The developers were soon to follow. We soon found that wealthy people liked the views as well. By now, married and with a baby, partying all night disappeared from our lifestyles. With the lots going for a Million or more… We didn’t have any friends that lived here. House cleaners only clean these homes we don’t live in them.
So we never made our way in, around, or above Skyline drive (the last main road of sorts) before the roads end at the mountains base anymore. Then I received a referral for a home above Skyline drive. After the consultation I stayed in the area scouting around my old stomping grounds. People still party here, but usually behind gated walls. The openness is gone, however, my memories were not. The memories were so powerful and so vivid that I had to pull over to reflect upon my past.
I never expected my cleaning business to take me back down memory lane!
A silly story perhaps… What’s your story!

That’s right! You can get your business onto the first page of Google. You might be wondering why a green cleaning tips blog would be writing about Getting high Google search rankings. Well, it’s very simple 45% of my website and blog traffic comes from search engines. That traffic is generated from being on the first page of search engine results . It is an established fact that 85% of web searchers never go beyond the first page of results. If your business is not on the first page you will not get much, if any, traffic through them… So from time to time I write about search.
This process is known as local SEO or geo-targeting SEO
To verify our high search rankings you can click on these links below and look for the URL’s www.yourfreshstart.us and www.yourfreshstart.us/wp

If you own a website be aware of where your domain name is registered! I know that this has nothing to do with cleaning tips but it has everything to do with this blog and maybe your website… This website was registered by a Mr. Richard Fray, of www.northstewart.com, on my behalf. The problem is that he registered the website in his name. When I discovered this I requested that it be placed in my name. Which was done.
However, the web designer, Mr. Fray, never moved the website registration out of his account and control. Since he still controlled the account I could not purchase an extension of the registration for another year. I was locked out the the registration process. The end result is that the website was down for four days.
What made things interesting is that the whois.org directory of registered website showed that the site was registered by a company known as Enom. However, a call to Enom revealed that another company actually registered the website and that they are a reseller of Enom services. That company, namecheap.com, only had a voice message service available for customers. So I left my message, now since it was the weekend, I wasn’t expecting a response until Monday. So I also tried email support.
To my surprise they emailed me back very quickly and left a phone message with an 800 number to call on Monday. They eventually informed me that yes, Mr. Fray, does control the account, however, the offered a work around for me. I could deposit funds in my account and they would resolve the matter and get my site back up and functioning. This did not however, resolve the long term issue that he has control of the domain, even thou I own the domain.
The best way to look at this is you own the car that you are driving, but the bank also has control of the car, if you have taken out a loan on that car. This is a big problem for me since I am trying to sell the business and website. I need the registration in my account, not just in my name.
I had complete trust in this person and that trust was broken. So I caution you to cover your assets. DO NOT EVER… LET SOMEONE ELSE REGISTER YOUR DOMAIN NAME! IT IS A VERY SIMPLE PROCESS… I have done it four times since I had this site registered by someone else… This is way to serious a matter to trust to someone else.
Unless he changes his position, I have no other recourse other than to take legal action. So please learn from my mistake rather than having to learn the hard way. I thought this person was a friend!

This is the, and more… Part! It is truly difficult to come up with fresh earth friendly cleaning tips for the green cleaning crowd. So if you have some tips please let us know. We would love to offer quality tips to our readers.
There have been some changes on this blog. I just upgraded to Word Press version 2.3 and there are some kinks to be worked out. I also added a widget, Called Blog Rush. It is a network of related blogs. The widget gets updated almost in real time. The idea is to create more traffic and offer other related options.
Blog Rush is the big new Buzz in SEO (search engine optimization) circles. So since I also offer search engine optimization services here in Tucson, I thought I would give it a try. I have tried Pay Per Post, as a way to monetize the blog but I have discontinued working with them. If you have a blog then I invite you to consider placing this widget on your blog. Blog Rush is about related blogs connecting together for the benefit of everyone. I will keep you posted on how this works!

This story is about the marketing of this blog: As part of this blogs marketing I read other blog sources and then comment on those blogs. I only blog on other blogs that allow you to place a link back to your own blog.
This serves several purposes. First, it builds links to my website and blog. Secondly, it keeps me abreast of what my industry is current doing and offering. This is a great way to learn about new products and services that you might want to include in your business. Thirdly, it provides quality tips. I then apply these tips in my own home. If it turns out that this idea works then I write about that idea from my perspective.
I will be doing a follow-up article about using Internet material and avoiding copy write laws. Now, back to why I am witting this article. While searching for blogs to comment on I came across a site that was offering a green cleaning methods at a community college.
Now, I thought that’s a great idea! I also thought “Hea, I have enough material…. I could do that!” I have teaching experience and I currently offer training seminar for my SEO business. As I read further, I noticed that the fee for this class is $45.00 and it was offer on my birthday. Wow, I am missing a goldmine hear. The moral of this article is this” You never know where a good idea will come from.” So I urge you be prepared to seize the moment.

Around this time last year: I started Your Fresh Start Cleaning Service and acquired my first house cleaning. He was a handsome tall and athletic University professor, who happened to be gay. It had taken me almost a month to find my first customer. I was using Craigslist to market the business here in Tucson. The problem with using Craigslist is that almost all of my competitors and customers were focused on the lowest possible price.
Since I had previously operated a janitorial service in the town I was certain that I didn’t want to be the low cost leader. I was not willing to clean nasty, dirty homes for very little rewards Every day I would usually be competing with 15-20 other vendors but no of these had a website. I thought that a website would set me apart from the crowd.
It was then that I discovered that I could create a free web page on Yahoo’s Geocities. This process only took a few hours. After the site was completed I then turned to Craigslist to make a post in the house cleaning category. The difference was that this time I could now place my ad that included a link to a website. I figured that a website would allow me more freedom to explain my service and why it was worth the extra money.
The very next day, I took a call and the gentleman stated “I’m on your website and I would like to set up an appointment for a free consultation.” At this point I knew that I was on to something good. This had the potential to eliminate most of the calls from people who demanded sight unseen bids over the phone or by email. I set up the appointment and closed the sale the next day. The website produced several new clients within the next few weeks. So I figured if a one page website worked then a real website might really work wonders.
I entered a barter arrangement to have this site built in exchange for my cleaning services. Unfortunately, and fortunately, I soon discovered that this person would not be the one that I could depend on to manage the site. The designers told me one day, never it expect to land my website on the first page of Google, and if so, it would take six months.
As it turned out it took him four months to complete the site. By the time it was completed my schedule was full. During that 4 months I would daily go out and service my cleaning customers. Then every night I would spend 8-10 hours studying how to market my website to the search engine. This process is known as SEO/SEM, or search engine optimization and marketing.
This website went live in January of this year. It was on the first page of results and has been there ever since for multiple searches. This blog ranks #1 for six Google Keyword searches! I was on to something so I used this knowledge to start Tucson SEO Solutions.
I now provide consulting service for local website owners and teach seminars. The best thing my web designer did was to tell me that I could not do something! That was all I needed to get motivated. So thank you Richard. The consulting business was the potential to make way more money and with way less effort. So in one year I have gone from scrubbing toilets to cleaning up websites.
Do you have an interesting story that you would like to share with our readers?

I don’t always have House Cleaning Tips to share: No sometimes I write about the interesting people that I encounter along the way. I often, as in, almost daily, place ads on Craigslist for this service. While most people who call from these ads are very nice… Some are just plain wacky… Late last night I got a call from a woman who demanded that I give her a quote over the phone. Now I only information that she gave me was the square footage and she expected and demanded a price quote.
It made on difference that my adds have links to my website where I explain that I never give a quote over the phone or by email. To me that would be like asking a mechanic to give a quote over the phone having never seen the vehicle. It just can not be done and be accurate. This is why I offer a free cleaning consultation and a written bid. It is how all professionals do it. She also kept rambling on about not wanting to pay $200.00 to have her house cleaned. She didn’t care when I explained that what she wanted was not how I do business… I quickly ended that conversation, yet she kept calling back. Whe this kind of thing occurs I wonder “did this person run out of meds!”
Then I took a call today from a gentleman. He demanded to know my name and why I did not include my name in my ads like everyone else. I politely responded by providing my name. I then asked why that was important to him. He responded “That’s all right, I don’t want to do business with you and hung up.” Now, I ask why did he call me if it bothered him that my business name appears in my ads and not my personal name. He thought nothing about questioning my business practices. However, he took offense when I asked him why that was important to him… Now, I’m thinking that if was that big a deal that my name didn’t appear in my ads, Then why, I wonder did he call?
Now, I have been in business for myself on and off for decades… And I have seen a lot of strange behavior… But it seems like any more that people are way to caught up in themselves… For many it doesn’t make any difference what my adds or website say… People just ignore what is written or explained and demand what they want…. And they expect it get it. These kind out people just act like spoiled little kids. I am not alone in these observations, as I go to lots of small business group meeting and hear the same complaints from others.
So for me… I mostly just laugh to myself about it all… “I tend to think that they must be off their meds” and move on… Life is much to short to take these few very seriously. Plus if it makes interesting copy when I blog about them. Have a great day.

One of the many things that I do is run a Meet-up group. The group is known as Tucson Entrepreneurs of Change. I was working a presentation about internet marketing without a website. As part of that presentation I was doing research on SEO or Search Engine Marketing.
So I visited YouTube and did a search for SEO. There I found a video about Word Press blogs. I discovered some feature of this blog that make reading easier for readers is not search engine friendly. So Then I set out to do some needed house cleaning. It will have very little effect on most readers, but will make the web spiders happy… So yes, house cleaning does come in many forms.

During this Holiday… I want to take the time to thank those that have given their lives for our freedom… When I look at the oppression in the world… I am thankful to be an American… Again, thanks to those that have given life and limb for these freedoms…
