This story is about the marketing of this blog: As part of this blogs marketing I read other blog sources and then comment on those blogs. I only blog on other blogs that allow you to place a link back to your own blog.
This serves several purposes. First, it builds links to my website and blog. Secondly, it keeps me abreast of what my industry is current doing and offering. This is a great way to learn about new products and services that you might want to include in your business. Thirdly, it provides quality tips. I then apply these tips in my own home. If it turns out that this idea works then I write about that idea from my perspective.
I will be doing a follow-up article about using Internet material and avoiding copy write laws. Now, back to why I am witting this article. While searching for blogs to comment on I came across a site that was offering a green cleaning methods at a community college.
Now, I thought that’s a great idea! I also thought “Hea, I have enough material…. I could do that!” I have teaching experience and I currently offer training seminar for my SEO business. As I read further, I noticed that the fee for this class is $45.00 and it was offer on my birthday. Wow, I am missing a goldmine hear. The moral of this article is this” You never know where a good idea will come from.” So I urge you be prepared to seize the moment.

Cleaning tiles can be a challenge for many of us: Our homes are filled with tiles these days, especially in the bathroom.and showers. This tips uses borax, lemon juice, and hot water. Try mixing about 4 ounces of both borax and lemon juice in a quart spray bottle along with warm water. Shake up the mixture then spray onto your tiles. Wait 5 minutes and repeat this process. Then lightly scrub and rinse.

Around this time last year: I started Your Fresh Start Cleaning Service and acquired my first house cleaning. He was a handsome tall and athletic University professor, who happened to be gay. It had taken me almost a month to find my first customer. I was using Craigslist to market the business here in Tucson. The problem with using Craigslist is that almost all of my competitors and customers were focused on the lowest possible price.
Since I had previously operated a janitorial service in the town I was certain that I didn’t want to be the low cost leader. I was not willing to clean nasty, dirty homes for very little rewards Every day I would usually be competing with 15-20 other vendors but no of these had a website. I thought that a website would set me apart from the crowd.
It was then that I discovered that I could create a free web page on Yahoo’s Geocities. This process only took a few hours. After the site was completed I then turned to Craigslist to make a post in the house cleaning category. The difference was that this time I could now place my ad that included a link to a website. I figured that a website would allow me more freedom to explain my service and why it was worth the extra money.
The very next day, I took a call and the gentleman stated “I’m on your website and I would like to set up an appointment for a free consultation.” At this point I knew that I was on to something good. This had the potential to eliminate most of the calls from people who demanded sight unseen bids over the phone or by email. I set up the appointment and closed the sale the next day. The website produced several new clients within the next few weeks. So I figured if a one page website worked then a real website might really work wonders.
I entered a barter arrangement to have this site built in exchange for my cleaning services. Unfortunately, and fortunately, I soon discovered that this person would not be the one that I could depend on to manage the site. The designers told me one day, never it expect to land my website on the first page of Google, and if so, it would take six months.
As it turned out it took him four months to complete the site. By the time it was completed my schedule was full. During that 4 months I would daily go out and service my cleaning customers. Then every night I would spend 8-10 hours studying how to market my website to the search engine. This process is known as SEO/SEM, or search engine optimization and marketing.
This website went live in January of this year. It was on the first page of results and has been there ever since for multiple searches. This blog ranks #1 for six Google Keyword searches! I was on to something so I used this knowledge to start Tucson SEO Solutions.
I now provide consulting service for local website owners and teach seminars. The best thing my web designer did was to tell me that I could not do something! That was all I needed to get motivated. So thank you Richard. The consulting business was the potential to make way more money and with way less effort. So in one year I have gone from scrubbing toilets to cleaning up websites.
Do you have an interesting story that you would like to share with our readers?

Do you eat on your floors? Sounds like a silly question doesn’t it? So unless you have a toddler crawling around your house, there aren’t any good reasons to use disinfectants on your floors. Most floors can be cleaned very easily with hot water and nothing else. The chemical companies don’t want you to know this but it is true.
You say, “My floors are really nasty dirty.” Well, from time to time something does get dropped and is allowed to dry. In this case, you might need a little extra help. I would recommend any Eco friendly house cleaning products. It is very easy to find bio-degradable cleaning products today. Save your disinfectants for food preparation areas and the bathroom. The Earth and your wallet will thank you.

Let’s consider some mold collectors in your bathroom. The shower curtain and rubber bath mats need regular cleaning. These are generally inexpensive items. You should consider replacing them every 3 months or sooner. These can be hard for many to clean effectively no matter what the cleaning agent that you use. This is especially important for those who have allergies or breathing related problems.

Consider cleaning the little thing that you often overlook. A good example of this is your phones. Yes, your cell and home phones harbor a great amount of bacteria. You can accomplish this by pouring a small amount of rubbing alcohol onto a rag and then wiping down your phones. Never pour any cleaning fluid directly onto any electrical equipment… Unless of course you want to replace that model.

Be an organized house cleaner. Cleaning, and then having to re-cleaning is a huge waste of time! But many of us do it all the time! Have you ever vacuumed the carpets first and then dusted the furniture? That dust settles which may require another round of vacuuming. Consider a planned and organized approach. When entering a room to be cleaned start at the top and away from the doorway. Work down and out and you will work only once. Cleaning twice just waste time!

A clean home requires that you remove dust-accumulating clutter. You will want to be vigilant, at all times, in your bedrooms. Over a third of your life is spent there. Dust builds up very quickly around your home. Exposure to dust and dust mites is extremely high. You need to kill dust mites and remove allergens from all of your sheets and blankets by washing with hot water..

Cleaning your waffle maker. These clean very easily after they have cooled. These generally require hand washing rather than using a dish washing machine. Built up and burnt on foods may require soaking prior to scrubbing.

This blog is about cleaning tips of the green and Eco friendly nature. My readers have come to depend on honest cleaning advice. However, it requires a fair amount of time and effort. So I have been considering how that it might best be monetized the blog with out cluttering it with a bunch of ads.
Using Google’s Ad Sense program or any affiliate program was not going to be an option. That is when I discovered a paid blogging website, blog marketing. Pay Per Post offers bloggers an opportunity to make some money doing what they already do, which is blogging.
You begin by registering your blog. It is reviewed, usually within a couple of days. Then after your blog has been accepted you may search their site for paid blogging opportunities. You then write about a product, service, or blog, and link to that site. You generally, are not required to post a positive review.
The price paid for your post varies greatly from $5.00 to well over a hundred dollars. Your blogs Page Rank influences how many opportunities that you will have to choose from and the fee paid. The higher your Page Rank the greater the pay that you can expect.
This article is my first effort blogging for Pay Per Post. I am looking forward to cash benefits that will result. My blog needs some updates and technical work to improve the quality and usability. These paid reviews will be used to make this a better experience for its readers. Thanks

Many seems to think that killing germs requires chemicals. Today, You will be presented with a natural and Earth friendly alternative using Eucalyptus oil. This oil has been used for centuries as a disinfecting agent. It was once common practice to use Eucalyptus oil to clean medical equipment.
You will want to make a mixture of 8 ounces of oil per gallon of water. You will want to vigorously shake this mixture before apply with a spray bottle. Remember this, nothing replaces good hygiene as your best defense with germs is good hand washing techniques.

This one arrived today! Name: Cat Urine Remover | URI: http://www.squidoo.com/cat-urine-remover/ | IP: 203.160.1.146 | Date: September 7, 2007
cat urine cleaner…
The best way to remove cat urine odors and stains……
Usually I never look at these because they are never related to this blog. However, a cat urine remover product could be useful information for the readers. So I visited this site, which is kinda hard to describe, as it offers a lot of options.
What I did note is that they had no readily available contact information. They also had a page describing in detail what spam is and that you should not spam! Now, I find that very interesting that a site that doesn’t not want spam on it’s thinks spamming is OK!
So I ask my readers… Let’s spread the word about this site… Please, Blog on other blogs and forums about this site. Let’s use “word of mouth” in an internet way, to teach them a lesson about hypocrisy. Again the site is www.squidoo.com. The header reads:
SquidSpam: Zero Tolerance
and it can be found at http://www.squidoo.com/squidspam#module3172314
Thanks for your help… Let’s create some buzz!

This little story qualifies as “Strange but true.” I was at a business mixer last night here in Tucson at a highly acclaimed restaurant. When I noticed a networking associate standing alone by the kitchen entrance. As I struck up a conversation with her I noticed she seemed distressed and was violently hiccuping. She informed me that she was waiting for some vinegar from the staff.
She went on to explain that the full strength vinegar when consumed would make her shudder and shake thus relieving her of her distress. I watched as she drank the vinegar and shook violently for a short while. Then she announced that it worked. I stood there quit amazed and explained that this episode would end up in my blog. I am true it my word and I do think this qualifies as strange but true!

Yes good old hemp (as in oil) can be used to restore… Wood! Hemp oil has been used for centuries to protect and clean wooden surfaces. You can even apply it to wood floors. Try using a mixture of a couple shots of clear spirits, 4 ounces or so of hemp oil, and several table spoons of apple vinegar. Mix these ingredients in a bucket and apply with a clean mop or sponge. Do not leave excess amounts on surface. Also remember to sweep real well prior to applying this solution. This mixture may be used on other wood surfaces as well.

Did you know that your water heater needs periodic cleaning. No, I am not referring to dusting the top. All water heaters should be drained every 4 - 6 months. This will remove sediment from the tanks bottom. This will allow it to run better and save you some money!

Cleaning is like anything else in life that you do not like to do. It is hard to be motivated to preform the tasks and you are easily distracted, especially in our well connected worlds. So I would like to suggest that you make an appointment to clean your home. View it as a very important appointment. Then turn off all your distractions, such as phones and turn on your ipod. This should eliminated the distractions. You will be amazed by how quickly you will get this project completed.

For those of you that are return readers, I have made some changes. This blog strives to be an add free source of Eco and green friendly cleaning tips. However, I find that I need to monetize the blog to pay for its associated costs (most of which is time.)
So I have been adding buttons on most posts. These buttons lead you to a new service, Pay Per Post. PPP offers blogger an opportunity to get paid to review my posts. It also offers you a opportunity to earn cash by posting on your own blog. The system is still in Beta and will get better over time. It works best if your blog has a high Page Rank. (PR) My blog does not have any PR because of some flaws in the software that I use. (WordPress) So the fact that it is highly ranked doesn’t work in my favor.
So while I may never make much money blogging I may do OK through referrals. This idea has been around for a while. It makes a lot of sense to me because a lot of people need blogging assistance. Please do leave comments!

This question came from Kathy today: Hi, great website, but I don’t see any tips on getting that nasty hard water build up stain out of the toilet? I have tried a pumice stone with some luck, but I can’t seem to keep it away after its some what spotless….any tips would be great
Well, this is a real big problem here in Tucson! There even is some kind of mold that feeds on that calcium ring in the toilet. This little trick works wonders. Use your pumice stone and clean that bowl real well. Then drain your bowl and let the sides dry. Now, this is where things get very interesting. Now, apply some auto finish auto exterior finish, you know, the stuff called wax! The finish sheds water and eliminates the need for harsh scrubbing. re-apply every month or so. Note the sides must be dry before you apply this product.
Also please follow these links to learn more about getting paid to review and post on your own blog!
